Royal Sun Alliance (RSA) is one of the world’s leading multinational quoted insurance groups. Within the UK, RSA is the second largest commercial lines insurer covering the insurance and risk management needs of a significant number of Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) 100 companies. RSA is also one of the UK’s top four personal motor and household insurers.

RSA have an annual Executive Development Program (EDP), where employees are nominated to enter a program to become an executive within the company. The EDP involves individuals running projects which eventually run back to the heads of RSA, who are based all over the world.

RSA required a collaboration site which would allow them all to collaborate on each project quickly and efficiently. Key requirements of the site were to have discussion pages, document management capabilities and a news section. Another possibility was the use of blogs so that people could keep a ‘journal’ of their progress.

RSA appointed ICS Solutions to create a collaboration site for them. Using BPOS-S, ICS Solutions created a collaboration site using custom branding. ICS Solutions provided RSA with a site template that incorporated all of the elements of their requirements - discussion pages, document management, a news section and a blog section.

This site template was developed with RSA and information architecture so that they could re-use it in their forthcoming annual Executive Development Program’s.
