The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is a charity organisation in the United Kingdom that funds research, education, care and awareness campaigns aimed to prevent heart diseases in humans. The BHF’s Hearty Lives programme aims to help reduce the UK’s premature death rate from cardiovascular disease by concentrating it Prevention and Care resources in high areas of need. Investing £9 million of funding and resources into this programme over the next five years, the Hearty Lives programme will insist of four major programmes; London, Scotland, Wales and North of England.
BHF had historically tried to build SharePoint applications in house, but recognised that they didn’t have the knowledge or capabilities to deliver within a time frame that met their needs. ICS Solutions were recommended to them and after initial consultation between the two companies ICS Solutions were selected to assist at a tactical level to replace Hearty lives project and build BHF’s strategic SharePoint roadmap.
ICS Solutions were engaged to work in an agile manner working collaboratively with their own in house teams to design, develop and build, together with end user knowledge transfer. ICS Solutions improved collaboration within the business, delivering a solution based on Windows SharePoint Server 2003 for their immediate requirements, BHF have recognised the value that MOSS 2007 or SharePoint 2010 will benefit their organisation and this is part of the broader SharePoint roadmap.
ICS Solutions delivered on time within budget, correct management disciplines and have since become considered as a leading Microsoft partner to BHF.
