Microsoft has adapted its Windows Azure platform to allow it to integrate better with open source software. The company has recently released software development kits that support the development of large web applications, such as web servers.

Along with the technical changes, there were also changes in pricing, to make solutions build on the Azure platform even more cost-effective.
