The SharePoint Adoption Framework End User
Training is flexible and can either be delivered via Classroom
or Computer Based Training (CBT). All End User Training is
condensed and tailored to allow users to obtain maximum
retention for minimum time spent away from their desks. The
applications will have a familiar look and feel therefore
helping the intake of the training and the uptake of the new
application.
End Users should receive training only on the SharePoint
functions they use and the courses should be tailored to their
specific implementation. The training should be integrated into
a complete adoption program. The training courses are built
based on the users requirements and can be a mixture of
centrally driven, business driven and user driven features which
are defined in the Foundation Training Content Workshop.
Foundation Content Creation: The purpose of
the Foundation Training Content Engagement is to identify
the most effective materials to be utilised in communicating
the training to the target audience. Its objectives are:
- To analyse best fit materials to be used for each user group
- Analysis on extent of bespoke materials versus OOB
- Identify scenarios and key functionality to be included in the bespoke element of the education
- Understand the current training materials (if any) and perform a SWOT analysis
The output from the Content Engagement is to produce a suite
of materials which can be used to effectively educate the
workforce and target knowledge transfer at key individuals
or user groups.
End User - Classroom Training: Classroom based training is suitable for companies who either have a small number of End Users and want them trained in a traditional fashion or, companies who are looking to run a small pilot course before deploying the End User CBT training.
The End User Classroom based course modules are aimed at
non-technical users who will view, edit and contribute
content to SharePoint 2007. The modules are designed to be
flexible to the user’s requirements and therefore a 1 day
End User Training Course can be built from a mixture of
relevant modules. These modules will be defined in the

End User - Online Training: Computer based training is suitable for companies who wish to quickly train a large number of employees. The End User CBT material is an ideal way of ensuring that all end users are up to speed with your SharePoint implementation so they can help you to drive it forward. The CBT lessons provide end users with self-paced, on-demand education which can be monitored, supported and managed centrally.
